Diva 262

The Indiana Line Diva 262 model is a perfect reflection of the manufacturer’s commitment to high-quality workmanship. There is no shortage of materials and solutions used in larger and much more expensive constructions (also those available in other models in the Diva series). Perfect refinement translates into a detailed sound with strong bass. The Indiana Line Diva loudspeakers are distinguished by a deep and warm sound of bass, which gives the played sounds a decisive character, complementing the detailed mids and highs. The column is perfect for places where floorstanding columns cannot be placed.

Indiana Line Diva 262

Indiana Line is one of the most important Italian brands that designs and manufactures loudspeakers. Its traditions date back to 1977. When introducing new models to the market, Indiana Line engineers and designers focus primarily on high-quality workmanship, but also the rational use of components. All this is to achieve sonic qualities that go beyond the technical parameters that are possible in this price range.

The pride of Italian designers

Diva is the top series of speakers in the Indiana Line offer and the pride of its designers. It received a beautiful piano black lacquer as a finish. The construction of the loudspeakers belonging to the Diva series hides hot, true southern emotions inside. The name of the series is not accidental. The speakers belonging to it – like an Italian diva – dazzle the listeners with their vocal talent, and in this case – sound.

A bookshelf with front-ported bass reflex

The Indiana Line Diva 262 is a 2-way bookshelf loudspeaker based on a 180 mm mid-woofer with a large membrane excursion. Thanks to the great sonic potential of this construction, it is possible to create a high-quality stereo system wherever it is impossible to place floor-standing speakers. The loudspeaker has been designed for use in rooms with an area of up to 20 m2 and will play best with an amplifier with a power from 30 to 120 W. Noteworthy is also the location of the bass reflex port on the front, which allows you to place the loudspeaker even close to the wall.

A two-way model with a Curv cone

The 26 mm silk dome tweeter used in the Diva 262 features a radial rear chamber damped with two different materials. The tweeter also uses a strong neodymium magnet. The driver is mounted in the cabinet with a rubber spring, which isolates the electro-acoustic driver from possible cabinet vibrations. Under the tweeter, there is the already mentioned 180 mm woofer with a unique Curv cone. It has been made of polypropylene. The membrane profile allows for excellent directional characteristics, and at the same time ensures optimal damping in a wide frequency range. The basket of the mid-woofer is a structure cast from aluminum, which is acoustically transparent, and at the same time guarantees no coloration of the midrange. The drive system of the woofer uses aluminum rings to linearize the impedance. All this is to reduce harmonic distortions and improve the thermal working conditions of the coils. Additionally, the low aversion of bass-reflex guarantees adequates bass extension combined with an excellent impulse response. The applied solutions translate into a clear and dynamic sound, also with a high-intensity signal.

Appropriate bandwidth distribution

The processed frequency band (from 44 Hz to 22 kHz) was appropriately distributed using a crossover (the crossover frequency in the Diva 262 model is 1.9 kHz). Only air coils (instead of core coils) and foil capacitors (in the tweeter filter-branch) have been used here. What’s more, the speaker terminals used in this bookshelf model have been made of magnetically inert materials, offering the possibility of connecting the speaker in bi-wire or bi-amping mode.

Amazing sound

The Diva 262 model reflects the manufacturer’s attention to care about detail and high quality of workmanship. Appropriate geometry and materials used, among others on the membranes, allowed to obtain exceptionally strong and, above all, clear mid-tones. The open treble sound was achieved thanks to the isolation of the tweeter from the cabinet. It is worth noticing the deep and warm bass, which does not dominate but gives firm character to the music played. Also worth mentioning is the wide soundstage, which is at the same time emotionally engaging. The Diva 262 model is perfect for even more powerful amplifiers based on transistors.

100% polyester damping

All Indiana Line cabinets are filled with polyester – a synthetic non-woven fabric of high purity, known for its excellent damping of the internal resonances of the speaker cabinets. What's more, polyester is also extremely resistant to stretching, drying and moisture.

Air coils and film capacitors

In order to emphasize the exceptionally clear and natural sound of our loudspeakers, we decided to get rid of the troublesome components from the crossover where it was necessary – in the tweeter filter. In all loudspeaker models in which this filter is used, we use only air coils and foil capacitors. These elements do not introduce harmful distortions to the filtered signal, as is the case with ferrite core coils and electrolytic capacitors.

Aluring

The short-circuit ring is made of pure, perfectly electrically conductive aluminum (1010). It has been placed inside the magnetic system of the mid-woofer. By linearizing the impedance of the loudspeaker, it positively influences the sound of the low and medium frequencies of the acoustic band, significantly reducing non-linear distortions. The ring also absorbs the heat emitted from the speaker coil, increasing its thermal load capacity.

Curv cone

Curv is a combination of special fibers with high stiffness and high internal damping. It is a material that is thermally formed into a cone profile, which ensures very good directional characteristics of the sound. The Curv cone combines the advantages of membranes made of natural materials (warm and pleasant sound) with the advantages of stiff membranes (high dynamics, precision and a wide, even frequency response). The membranes made of Curv material are also moisture-resistant and are characterized by high durability. The Curv cone has been used in the mid-woofers.

Floating tweeter

The tweeter is mounted in the cabinet with a rubber insulating pad. This solution is to limit the vibrations transmitted from the front wall of the column cabinet to this sensitive component. The use of a floating mount in the case of a tweeter increases the spatiality of the sound, improves the stereo and clarity of the treble.

MDF housing with transverse reinforcements

Indiana Line loudspeakers cabinets are made of MDF panels. They are made using the latest production techniques, which ensures high precision of workmanship, great repeatability and excellent performance parameters for many years. MDF is a moisture-resistant material, it is massive and it suppresses all resonances very well. To completely remove unwanted vibrations, we used transverse reinforcements of the cabinet. They take the form of horizontal rings that are located at key points along the entire height of the loudspeaker cabinet.

Radialvent

A radial damping chamber that prevents harmful reflections under the tweeter dome while allowing it to achieve a low resonance frequency. The small, but at the same time strong magnet of the tweeter is surrounded by a space in which – due to its shape – standing waves cannot be generated, which is the case with classic radial chambers located in the axis of the dome.
