“No frills or pr, this is an Indiana Line Italian speaker”  – Nota 260 X speaker test in AV-Online magazine

The Indiana Line Nota 260 X is a large, two-way speaker (the largest bookshelf model in the Nota series) with a 26mm dome tweeter and 166mm woofer/midrange. The bass/midrange diaphragm has a long linear excursion. The Nota 260 X’s bass-reflex design is housed in the back panel. This loudspeaker is designed for medium-sized listening rooms (up to 20 m2). It is particularly suitable for a classic stereo system where there is no room for large floorstanding speakers.

AV-Online magazine was curious to see what the Nota 260 X speaker has to offer, as it is difficult to find quality Italian speakers in this price range on the market today.

“The Nota 260 X is not revolutionary in terms of looks, as it uses parallel sidewalls and MDF, and can be finished in black oak or light walnut, but this only applies to the contoured vinyl-coated side panels, which is a nod to Italian speaker design in the 1990s. It should be noted that this solution was only available at the higher end of the market at the time, so it definitely deserves some credit. The workmanship is impeccable, the joints are precise, and there are no instabilities anywhere. In short, it shows that a product from a manufacturer that is 46 years old this year has made it onto the market.”

The reviewer noted that, while it doesn’t live up to its big audiophile counterparts, it does what it was designed to do very well.

“When we simply started listening to music with it, it was a real pleasure because it was dynamic, stable, dynamic, with the right adrenaline rush, and with the right music we could even immerse ourselves in the presentation. All in all, a very clever construction.”

He continued:

“The sound of the Nota 260 X was very pleasing and won us over within minutes, which played a huge part in keeping us listening for a long time.”

Cue:

“After the Tesi Series loudspeakers, our first encounter with Indiana Line’s smallest Nota series in the person of the 260 X left us with nothing but positive feelings, which further cemented our appreciation for the Italian manufacturer.”
