Tesi 261

The Indiana Line Tesi 261 2-way bookshelf loudspeakers use a cabinet with a bass reflex port at the front, which makes it much easier to position the loudspeaker in the room and provides dynamic bass. Tesi 261 is designed for medium-sized rooms, the area of which does not exceed 20 m2. Despite its compact design, it guarantees high sound quality and is perfect for stereo installations wherever it is difficult to place floorstanding loudspeakers.

Indiana Line Tesi 261

Indiana Line is one of the most important Italian brands offering loudspeakers and installation speakers. Its traditions date back to the 70s of the last century, and more precisely to 1977. The designers and engineers working for the Indiana Line brand seek to achieve high-quality workmanship, with rational use of components to achieve the sound that goes far beyond the parameters achieved by competitive models available in a similar price range.

The essence of the Italian style

The design of the Tesi series loudspeakers is embodied in their classic and modern cabinet with rounded corners. This is confirmed by the Tesi 261 bookshelf model. A durable and, at the same time, very aesthetic vinyl has been used here. It is available in three colors – white, light walnut and black oak. The design of the Tesi speakers makes the models belonging to this Indiana Line series perfect for interiors with almost any arrangement. The bookshelf Tesi 261 not only looks good but also provides a complete, mature sound that is unrivaled in its price.

Tesi 261 – for medium-sized rooms

The Indiana Line Tesi 261 bookshelf loudspeaker is a 2-way design with a 26 mm dome tweeter and a 160 mm mid-woofer. The woofer is characterized by a large linear excursion, which allows for high dynamics of the reproduced audio signal. The bass reflex port is located at the front, which makes it much easier to place the speaker. Designed for medium-sized rooms (up to 20 m2), the Tesi 261 speaker will be useful, among others, as the main pair of speakers in a stereo system wherever there is no room for large floorstanding models. The loudspeaker has an amplifier loading impedance between 4 – 8 ohms, and the power of the amplifier to drive this loudspeaker should be in the range of 30 to 120 W.

Detailed and clear sound

The mid-woofer cone in this loudspeaker is made of a mixture of polypropylene and mica. As a result, it is stiff, and thus appropriately adapted to the precise reproduction of even the smallest details in the audio signal. The phase plug located in the middle of the woofer allows a wide dispersion of mid-frequencies, richly saturating the listening room with them. A silk dome tweeter with a neodymium magnet and a radial rear chamber is placed in an undercut and specially contoured front, as close to the mid-woofer as possible. It offers clear treble and guarantees great blending with the mentioned mid-woofer. The low and smooth tuning of the bass reflex system allows for deep and dynamic bass, which gives the music rhythm and energy. What is important, the tweeter filter uses only air coils and foil capacitors, which significantly affects the refinement of the Tesi 261’s sound in comparison with the competitive loudspeakers.

100% polyester damping

All Indiana Line cabinets are filled with polyester – a synthetic non-woven fabric of high purity, known for its excellent damping of the internal resonances of the speaker cabinets. What's more, polyester is also extremely resistant to stretching, drying and moisture.

Air coils and film capacitors

In order to emphasize the exceptionally clear and natural sound of our loudspeakers, we decided to get rid of the troublesome components from the crossover where it was necessary – in the tweeter filter. In all loudspeaker models in which this filter is used, we use only air coils and foil capacitors. These elements do not introduce harmful distortions to the filtered signal, as is the case with ferrite core coils and electrolytic capacitors.

Aluring

The short-circuit ring is made of pure, perfectly electrically conductive aluminum (1010). It has been placed inside the magnetic system of the mid-woofer. By linearizing the impedance of the loudspeaker, it positively influences the sound of the low and medium frequencies of the acoustic band, significantly reducing non-linear distortions. The ring also absorbs the heat emitted from the speaker coil, increasing its thermal load capacity.

MDF housing with transverse reinforcements

Indiana Line loudspeakers cabinets are made of MDF panels. They are made using the latest production techniques, which ensures high precision of workmanship, great repeatability and excellent performance parameters for many years. MDF is a moisture-resistant material, it is massive and it suppresses all resonances very well. To completely remove unwanted vibrations, we used transverse reinforcements of the cabinet. They take the form of horizontal rings that are located at key points along the entire height of the loudspeaker cabinet.

Mica-poly cone

Universal and extremely popular polypropylene is a valued material, often used for speaker membranes. However, in order to ensure the most faithful transmission of micro-details, we decided to further increase the stiffness of the cone. We achieved this by doping polypropylene with a mineral called mica. This shiny, hard material significantly improves the parameters of the membrane, guaranteeing the transducer a long and reliable operation, and at the same time giving it an attractive appearance.

Radialvent

A radial damping chamber that prevents harmful reflections under the tweeter dome while allowing it to achieve a low resonance frequency. The small, but at the same time strong magnet of the tweeter is surrounded by a space in which – due to its shape – standing waves cannot be generated, which is the case with classic radial chambers located in the axis of the dome.
