Tesi 241

Light and compact Indiana Line Tesi 241 loudspeakers will be useful as effect speakers in a home theater system. However, nothing prevents you from using them in compact stereo installations, in combination with a suitable amplifier. The Indiana Line Tesi 241 has a back ported bass reflex cabinet, which helps to reproduce bass more effectively when placed closer to the wall. The treble is handled by a 26 mm tweeter (silk dome tweeter), and the midrange driver is equipped with a polypropylene cone with an admixture of mica.

Indiana Line Tesi 241

Indiana Line is one of the most important Italian brands in the audio industry. Its offer includes loudspeakers as well as installation speakers. The traditions of Indiana Line date back to 1977. The goal of engineers and designers working for this brand has always been the highest quality of workmanship and at the same time the rational use of components. This made it possible to achieve sonic qualities that go far beyond the parameters achieved by competing designs available in a similar price range.

Classic and timeless design

The classic and modern cabinet with rounded edges of the Indiana Line Tesi 241 model is the true essence of Italian style. The speaker has been finished with durable and aesthetic vinyl. It is available in light walnut or black oak. The universal and timeless design of the Indiana Line speakers from the Tesi series makes the Tesi 241 bookshelf model perfect for any room, regardless of the arrangement. This model not only looks great but also surprises with a complete and extremely mature sound, unrivaled in its price class.

Compact bookshelf speaker

The Indiana Line Tesi 241 is a light and compact 2-way bookshelf speaker with a 26 mm dome tweeter and a 120 mm mid-woofer. Backfiring bass reflex port helps this compact speaker to play low bass more effectively when placed closer to the wall. In addition, the low and gentle tuning of the bass reflex system allows for deep and dynamic bass, giving the music rhythm and energy. The speaker is designed for smaller rooms of up to 12 m2. It will be particularly useful, among others, as an effect speaker, as well as in a stereo set for the TV sound system (in operation with a suitable amplifier) or as speakers for micro-sound systems, placed on a shelf or bookcase. The Tesi 241 model has an amplifier loading impedance between 4 – 8 ohms and the amplifier power required to drive it is from 30 to 80 W.

Refined, clear sound

The appropriately shaped cone of the woofer is made of a mixture of polypropylene and mica, which gives the membrane the rigidity necessary for extremely precise reproduction of even the smallest sonic details. Placed in the center, the stationary phase plug ensures a wide dispersion of mid-frequencies, richly saturating the listening room with them. A silk dome tweeter with a neodymium magnet and a radial rear chamber is located in an undercut and specially profiled front and as close as possible to the mid-woofer. It offers open and clear treble with a sparkle of finesse in the highest octave, while perfectly blending with the mid-woofer used in Tesi 241. It is worth emphasizing that only air coils and foil capacitors are used in the tweeter filter. This impacts the refinement of Tesi’s sound in comparison with competitive loudspeakers.

100% polyester damping

All Indiana Line cabinets are filled with polyester – a synthetic non-woven fabric of high purity, known for its excellent damping of the internal resonances of the speaker cabinets. What's more, polyester is also extremely resistant to stretching, drying and moisture.

Air coils and film capacitors

In order to emphasize the exceptionally clear and natural sound of our loudspeakers, we decided to get rid of the troublesome components from the crossover where it was necessary – in the tweeter filter. In all loudspeaker models in which this filter is used, we use only air coils and foil capacitors. These elements do not introduce harmful distortions to the filtered signal, as is the case with ferrite core coils and electrolytic capacitors.

Aluring

The short-circuit ring is made of pure, perfectly electrically conductive aluminum (1010). It has been placed inside the magnetic system of the mid-woofer. By linearizing the impedance of the loudspeaker, it positively influences the sound of the low and medium frequencies of the acoustic band, significantly reducing non-linear distortions. The ring also absorbs the heat emitted from the speaker coil, increasing its thermal load capacity.

MDF housing with transverse reinforcements

Indiana Line loudspeakers cabinets are made of MDF panels. They are made using the latest production techniques, which ensures high precision of workmanship, great repeatability and excellent performance parameters for many years. MDF is a moisture-resistant material, it is massive and it suppresses all resonances very well. To completely remove unwanted vibrations, we used transverse reinforcements of the cabinet. They take the form of horizontal rings that are located at key points along the entire height of the loudspeaker cabinet.

Mica-poly cone

Universal and extremely popular polypropylene is a valued material, often used for speaker membranes. However, in order to ensure the most faithful transmission of micro-details, we decided to further increase the stiffness of the cone. We achieved this by doping polypropylene with a mineral called mica. This shiny, hard material significantly improves the parameters of the membrane, guaranteeing the transducer a long and reliable operation, and at the same time giving it an attractive appearance.

Radialvent

A radial damping chamber that prevents harmful reflections under the tweeter dome while allowing it to achieve a low resonance frequency. The small, but at the same time strong magnet of the tweeter is surrounded by a space in which – due to its shape – standing waves cannot be generated, which is the case with classic radial chambers located in the axis of the dome.
