Nota 550 X

The solid floorstanding Indiana Line Nota 550 X loudspeakers have a bass reflex cabinet with a port on the front baffle (this solution makes it easier to set up the speakers) and a stable, lacquered base. The interior of the construction made of MDF panel hides two internal reinforcements, thanks to which unwanted resonances are reduced. Indiana Line Nota 550 X is a 2,5-way model that is designed for listening rooms ranging from 12 to approx. 20 m2, and at the same time the only Indiana Line floorstanding speaker in the Nota series.

Indiana Line Nota 550 X

The traditions of Indiana Line date back to 1977. For many years on the market, it has managed to establish itself as one of the most important Italian brands in the audio industry. Its offer includes loudspeakers and installation speakers. The engineers and designers of the Indiana Line brand from the beginning of the brand’s existence have been aiming to introduce models to the market that will be characterized by high-quality workmanship and rationally used components. This approach of the company allowed for the creation of products with sonic qualities that go far beyond the parameters achievable in a similar price range.

Timeless design-line

The timeless shapes of the Nota series loudspeakers, to which the Nota 550 X floor-standing model belongs, confirm the craftsmanship of Italian design. Its elegantly contoured side panels are finished with an aesthetic and durable vinyl coating. It is available in two variants –light walnut or black oak. The Note 550 X will not only decorate your interior but will also surprise you with a highly dynamic sound, providing an emotional and powerful sound, just like during a live concert.

The only floor standing design

The Indiana Line Nota 550 X is a 2,5-way floor-standing speaker with a 26 mm dome tweeter and a pair of 135 mm drivers (one woofer and one mid-woofer). The driver, located at the lowest level, is characterized by a large linear excursion of the membrane. The massive cabinet made of MDF has two internal reinforcements and rests on a black lacquered base. The Nota 550 X model has the bass reflex cabinet with a front-firing port, which makes it easy to place the set of speakers in the room, even close to the wall. What is very practical, the bass reflex port has been located in such a way that it is also hidden when the grille is attached. Nota 550 X is designed for medium-sized rooms – from 12 to approx. 20 m2. This loudspeaker has an amplifier loading impedance between 4 – 8 ohms, and the power of the amplifier, which is necessary to power this floor-standing model, should be from 30 to 150 W.

The fullness and purity of the sound

In the Nota 550 X model, the woofers and the mid-woofers membranes have CD-like micro-grooves. They smoothly and warmly reproduce the sound of the midrange, and at the same time guarantee a strong reproduction of deep bass. A textile dome tweeter with a neodymium magnet and a unique radial rear chamber is placed in a specially profiled front, which improves the dispersion of treble. To highlight the uniqueness of the Indiana Line models of the Nota series, including the floor standing Nota 550 X model, only air coils and foil capacitors are used in the tweeter filter, keeping the trebles clear and distinct.

100% polyester damping

All Indiana Line cabinets are filled with polyester – a synthetic non-woven fabric of high purity, known for its excellent damping of the internal resonances of the speaker cabinets. What's more, polyester is also extremely resistant to stretching, drying and moisture.

Air coils and film capacitors

In order to emphasize the exceptionally clear and natural sound of our loudspeakers, we decided to get rid of the troublesome components from the crossover where it was necessary – in the tweeter filter. In all loudspeaker models in which this filter is used, we use only air coils and foil capacitors. These elements do not introduce harmful distortions to the filtered signal, as is the case with ferrite core coils and electrolytic capacitors.

MDF housing with transverse reinforcements

Indiana Line loudspeakers cabinets are made of MDF panels. They are made using the latest production techniques, which ensures high precision of workmanship, great repeatability and excellent performance parameters for many years. MDF is a moisture-resistant material, it is massive and it suppresses all resonances very well. To completely remove unwanted vibrations, we used transverse reinforcements of the cabinet. They take the form of horizontal rings that are located at key points along the entire height of the loudspeaker cabinet.

Radialvent

A radial damping chamber that prevents harmful reflections under the tweeter dome while allowing it to achieve a low resonance frequency. The small, but at the same time strong magnet of the tweeter is surrounded by a space in which – due to its shape – standing waves cannot be generated, which is the case with classic radial chambers located in the axis of the dome.
