Diva 552

The Indiana Line Diva 552 loudspeakers have carefully selected materials for the membranes of the drivers, which allowed for clear and strong midrange tones. In turn, isolating the tweeter from the cabinet guarantees detailed and open high frequencies. The whole thing is complemented by a deep and warm bass sound. The solid structure of the cabinet made of MDF perfectly suppresses unwanted vibrations. With the use of the Indiana Line Diva 552 floorstanding model, we can successfully amplify a room of up to 20 m2, while ensuring a distortion-free sound.

Indiana Line Diva 552

Indiana Line is one of the most important Italian brands in the audio sector, offering loudspeakers. The brand’s traditions date back to the 1970s, and more precisely to 1997. From the very beginning, the goal of Indiana Line designers and engineers was to bring to the market solidly made models, distinguished by an extremely favorable price-quality ratio for the customer.

The pride of Italian designers

Indiana Line Diva is the flagship series of loudspeakers in the brand’s offer and the pride of its main designer. To emphasize the uniqueness of the design, the Diva 552 model, like other speakers in this line, received an exclusive finish with black piano lacquer. The name of the column series is not accidental. We are dealing here with a real Italian diva, who when she enters the stage, whispers stop and a spectacle of excellent sound begins.

Perfect for medium-sized rooms

The Indiana Line Diva 552 is a 2,5-way floor-standing loudspeaker with a pair of 140 mm drivers – woofer and mid-woofer. Under the electroacoustic drivers on the front, there is a bass reflex port. Thanks to this, it is possible to place the column even close to the wall. The large scale of the sound, considering the size of this construction, allows the Diva 552 to successfully amplify a room with an area of up to 20 m2, in combination with an amplifier with a power from 30 to 130 W. The amplifier loading impedance of the Diva 552 model is 4 – 8 ohms.

Refined 2,5-way acoustical design

The floor-standing model Diva 552 uses a 26 mm silk dome tweeter and radial rear chamber, and a strong neodymium magnet mounted on a soft rubber spring. It allowed isolating the tweeter from unwanted vibrations of the loudspeaker cabinet. Under the tweeter, there is a mid-woofer with a Curv cone made of woven polypropylene, formed into a profile that provides excellent directional characteristics, and at the same time optimal damping while maintaining a wide frequency range. Under there is a woofer, whose membrane is made of cellulose pulp, known for its warm and powerful bass reproduction. The magnetic drives of the transducers also deserve attention, as they use aluminum impedance linearization rings, which allowed for the reduction of harmonic distortions and at the same time improved the thermal conditions of the coils. In connection with the low-tuned bass reflex system, a dynamic yet clear sound is achieved, even at high sound pressure levels.

Crossover with two dividing frequencies

The proper bandwidth distribution in the Diva 552 model is ensured by a properly constructed crossover, which uses only air coils (instead of core coils). In turn, the filter section for the tweeter is based on foil capacitors. The speaker terminals in the Diva 552 have been made of magnetically inert materials. Importantly, you can connect the speaker to an amplifier in bi-wiring / bi-amping.

Unique sound and a wide soundstage

Indiana Line’s attention to detail, and at the same time care for the high quality of all components used, allowed the Italian Diva to go to the heights in terms of sound quality. The sublime geometry and carefully selected membrane materials resulted in a clear and strong midrange. Also of great importance for the final sound is the isolation of the tweeter from the cabinet, which allows for a detailed and open treble. The whole thing is complemented by a deep and warm bass, which does not dominate the rest, but at the same time is present while maintaining a wide soundstage. The floor-standing Indiana Line Diva 552 model will be perfect for a stereo audio system, especially in cooperation with transistor power amplifiers.

100% polyester damping

All Indiana Line cabinets are filled with polyester – a synthetic non-woven fabric of high purity, known for its excellent damping of the internal resonances of the speaker cabinets. What's more, polyester is also extremely resistant to stretching, drying and moisture.

Air coils and film capacitors

In order to emphasize the exceptionally clear and natural sound of our loudspeakers, we decided to get rid of the troublesome components from the crossover where it was necessary – in the tweeter filter. In all loudspeaker models in which this filter is used, we use only air coils and foil capacitors. These elements do not introduce harmful distortions to the filtered signal, as is the case with ferrite core coils and electrolytic capacitors.

Aluring

The short-circuit ring is made of pure, perfectly electrically conductive aluminum (1010). It has been placed inside the magnetic system of the mid-woofer. By linearizing the impedance of the loudspeaker, it positively influences the sound of the low and medium frequencies of the acoustic band, significantly reducing non-linear distortions. The ring also absorbs the heat emitted from the speaker coil, increasing its thermal load capacity.

Curv cone

Curv is a combination of special fibers with high stiffness and high internal damping. It is a material that is thermally formed into a cone profile, which ensures very good directional characteristics of the sound. The Curv cone combines the advantages of membranes made of natural materials (warm and pleasant sound) with the advantages of stiff membranes (high dynamics, precision and a wide, even frequency response). The membranes made of Curv material are also moisture-resistant and are characterized by high durability. The Curv cone has been used in the mid-woofers.

Floating tweeter

The tweeter is mounted in the cabinet with a rubber insulating pad. This solution is to limit the vibrations transmitted from the front wall of the column cabinet to this sensitive component. The use of a floating mount in the case of a tweeter increases the spatiality of the sound, improves the stereo and clarity of the treble.

MDF housing with transverse reinforcements

Indiana Line loudspeakers cabinets are made of MDF panels. They are made using the latest production techniques, which ensures high precision of workmanship, great repeatability and excellent performance parameters for many years. MDF is a moisture-resistant material, it is massive and it suppresses all resonances very well. To completely remove unwanted vibrations, we used transverse reinforcements of the cabinet. They take the form of horizontal rings that are located at key points along the entire height of the loudspeaker cabinet.

Radialvent

A radial damping chamber that prevents harmful reflections under the tweeter dome while allowing it to achieve a low resonance frequency. The small, but at the same time strong, neodymium magnet of the tweeter is surrounded by a space in which – due to its shape – standing waves cannot be generated, which is the case with classic radial chambers located in the axis of the dome.
