Diva 252

The Indiana Line Diva 252 two-way compact loudspeaker, covered with black piano lacquer, is a design with a back firing bass reflex port, in which a properly tuned crossover with a crossover frequency of 2.9 kHz ensures the proper assignment of the processed frequency band to individual drivers. Indiana Line Diva 252 will work in smaller and medium-sized rooms – of up to approx. 15 m2, e.g. as an element of a compact stereo system, but also in home theater systems (as effect speakers), ensuring high sound quality.

Indiana Line Diva 252

Indiana Line is one of the most important Italian brands offering loudspeakers, with a tradition dating back to 1977. Indiana Line’s engineers and designers have always aimed at the highest quality of performance and rational use of components to achieve sonic qualities that go far beyond the parameters that can be obtained in this price range.

Diva – unique in every detail

Indiana Line Diva is the flagship series in the brand’s offer and the real pride of its main designer. It has been finished with beautiful, black piano lacquer. The distinctive elegance of the Diva models hides hot, southern emotions inside. This is a real Italian diva – when it enters the stage, the whispers stop and the spectacle of excellent sound begins.

A bookshelf model for a stereo set

The Indiana Line Diva 252 is a 2-way bookshelf speaker with a 140 mm mid-woofer. The classic, compact cabinet of the Diva 252 model with optimal proportions can be placed near the wall to enhance low frequencies. It is possible thanks to the rear-firing bass reflex port. The loudspeaker is perfect for rooms of up to about 15 m2 in area, e.g. as a high-quality substitute for speakers for micro-sound systems or as an element of a compact stereo set. It will play best with an amplifier with a power of 30 to 100 W. The impedance of the Diva 252 is 4 – 8 ohms.

Well-thought 2-way design

The new revision of the tweeter with a 26 mm silk dome tweeter is equipped with a radial rear chamber with two types of damping materials. This driver is propelled by a neodymium magnet, which is embedded in the cabinet with a soft, rubber spring, isolating it from the potential vibrations of the speaker cabinet. A midrange driver, designed especially for the Diva series has been located under the tweeter. Its unique Curv cone is made of woven polypropylene, which has been formed into a profile providing excellent directional characteristics and optimal damping in a wide frequency range. The cast aluminum basket is of high-class construction, ensuring no coloration of the midrange. The magnetic drive of the mid-woofer has been equipped with an aluminum impedance linearizing ring to reduce harmonic distortions and improve the thermal conditions of the coils. It is reflected in an exceptionally dynamic and clear sound, even at high volume levels. This is facilitated by the traditional bass reflex system low tuning, which ensures great extension of bass together with a great impulse response.

A perfectly tuned crossover

The proper bandwidth distribution in the Diva 252 model is ensured by a properly tuned crossover, which uses only air coils (instead of ferrite core coils making unnecessary distortions). The tweeter filter-branch is based solely on foil capacitors. The loudspeaker terminals are made of magnetically inert materials, offering bi-wiring and bi-amping possibilities.

Sublime sound

The manufacturer’s attention to detail and the high quality of the components used, allowed Diva to go to the heights in terms of sound quality. The sophisticated geometry and materials used resulted in a clear and strong midrange. Isolating the tweeter from the cabinet resulted in a detailed and open treble sound. They are complemented by a deep and warm bass that does not dominate, but at the same time is present with a strong foundation and a great impulse, giving the music a decisive rhythm. The soundstage is wide and thrillingly engaging. The high-quality speaker drivers used in the Diva 252 speaker can face even more powerful transistor amplifiers, allowing the orchestra for fortissimo without much effort. The best sonic results can be achieved with newer, integrated transistor power amplifiers.

100% polyester damping

All Indiana Line cabinets are filled with polyester – a synthetic non-woven fabric of high purity, known for its excellent damping of the internal resonances of the speaker cabinets. What's more, polyester is also extremely resistant to stretching, drying and moisture.

Air coils and film capacitors

In order to emphasize the exceptionally clear and natural sound of our loudspeakers, we decided to get rid of the troublesome components from the crossover where it was necessary – in the tweeter filter. In all loudspeaker models in which this filter is used, we use only air coils and foil capacitors. These elements do not introduce harmful distortions to the filtered signal, as is the case with ferrite core coils and electrolytic capacitors.

Aluring

The short-circuit ring is made of pure, perfectly electrically conductive aluminum (1010). It has been placed inside the magnetic system of the mid-woofer. By linearizing the impedance of the loudspeaker, it positively influences the sound of the low and medium frequencies of the acoustic band, significantly reducing non-linear distortions. The ring also absorbs the heat emitted from the speaker coil, increasing its thermal load capacity.

Curv cone

Curv is a combination of special fibers with high stiffness and high internal damping. It is a material that is thermally formed into a cone profile, which ensures very good directional characteristics of the sound. The Curv cone combines the advantages of membranes made of natural materials (warm and pleasant sound) with the advantages of stiff membranes (high dynamics, precision and a wide, even frequency response). The membranes made of Curv material are also moisture-resistant and are characterized by high durability. The Curv cone has been used in the mid-woofers.

Floating tweeter

The tweeter is mounted in the cabinet with a rubber insulating pad. This solution is to limit the vibrations transmitted from the front wall of the column cabinet to this sensitive component. The use of a floating mount in the case of a tweeter increases the spatiality of the sound, improves the stereo and clarity of the treble.

MDF housing with transverse reinforcements

Indiana Line loudspeakers cabinets are made of MDF panels. They are made using the latest production techniques, which ensures high precision of workmanship, great repeatability and excellent performance parameters for many years. MDF is a moisture-resistant material, it is massive and it suppresses all resonances very well. To completely remove unwanted vibrations, we used transverse reinforcements of the cabinet. They take the form of horizontal rings that are located at key points along the entire height of the loudspeaker cabinet.

Radialvent

A radial damping chamber that prevents harmful reflections under the tweeter dome while allowing it to achieve a low resonance frequency. The small, but at the same time strong magnet of the tweeter is surrounded by a space in which – due to its shape – standing waves cannot be generated, which is the case with classic radial chambers located in the axis of the dome.
